There are a range of student visas which permit study at a primary, secondary, or tertiary level.

On this visa you can study full-time at the course stated on your visa – this includes schools, tertiary, and English language studies so long as it is through an approved education provider.

Some full fee-paying student visas allow you to work part-time (up to 20 hours a week) while studying and full-time in the holidays.

Full fee-paying student visa must pay international student fees to study in New Zealand.

Children whose parents hold certain work visas may be granted a student visa as a domestic student for the purpose of all tuition fees at primary and secondary school levels for the period of the parent’s work visa.

Normally this visa is for individuals aged between 5 and 19 year olds wishing to study from year 1 up until year 13.
